Electromagnetic flow meters operate according to Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. When an electrically conductive fluid passes through a magnetic field, a voltage is induced that is directly proportional to the fluid velocity. By measuring this induced voltage, the flow rate can be determined with a high degree of accuracy.
This technology is particularly suitable for measuring a wide range of conductive liquids, including potable water, wastewater, leachate, food-grade liquids, water-based paints, conductive acids, as well as liquids containing suspended solids, abrasive fluids, and heavily contaminated liquids.
Electromagnetic flow meters are the ideal solution whenever high measurement accuracy is required. Their full-bore design, with no internal moving or obstructing parts, allows the unrestricted passage of liquids containing impurities or solid particles, making them particularly suitable for demanding industrial applications.
To ensure proper operation, the measuring tube must remain completely full during operation, and the fluid must have sufficient electrical conductivity.
